SKILLS

• RC detailing - General Building, external works, pre-cast car parks, 2.5km flood wall, flood alleviation, ground beams/slabs, and multi-storey buildings. Strengthening of existing concrete framed building for change of use. Post tensioned and reinforced concrete slabs and beams.
• Renovation/Extension and change of use – Measure up and survey of existing buildings including historic and industrial, to produce Planning and builders work drawings.
• Surface and Foul water design and detailing – For supermarkets, shopping centres, housing estates, etc Using Microdrainage for design and Autocad for drawings.
• Steel - GA’s and sections. General steelwork detailing.
• Railways – Survey and draughting for station improvements and renovation. Tay Bridge Renovation, Kings Cross New Roof, Kings Cross Platform Y, bridges, general building work.
• Highways – Road design and layout for housing and industrial estates.
• Bridges - Structural drawings for detailing of bridge renewal and repair works
• Telecoms - Mobile phone base stations.

ACHIEVEMENTS

• Whilst working for one employer, I managed a small team of CAD Technicians that were producing drawings to repair and renovate Kings Cross Station Roof. The work was completed well within budget, and received many compliments about the quality of the drawings from Network Rail.
• While working for a Drainage Designer I developed various Autocad blocks and linetypes to make production of Drainage Drawings quicker, easier and more accurate.
• Concrete detailing drawings are often unclear, not-to-scale and difficult to check. I have a small programme that makes RC detailing easier, including isometric details and sections to scale. And because they are clearer with more information, they are easier to check.
• CAD Standards are essential to the production of clear drawings that are easy to understand. To this end I have collected a series of details and programmes, to make life easier.
